Family holiday to Vietnam

If Southeast Asia is the perfect destination to visit with children, then Vietnam is the star of the show! From north to south, this country is a real delight to marvel together on a family holiday to Vietnam. Vietnam is certainly a developing country but the sanitary conditions are relatively good. A family trip to Vietnam will be an opportunity to let children understand the richness of the experience, by encouraging them to meet the locals, and share their curiosity and excitement.

Best activities for a family holiday to Vietnam

Some of our favourite activities for a family holiday to Vietnam: In Hanoi, a visit to the Ethnography Museum and its park where you can discover restored traditional houses; a water puppet show at Hoan Kiem Lake accompanied by traditional music; kayaking in the sublime Halong Bay; a rickshaw ride in the green and peaceful city of Hue; the colourful and picturesque floating markets of the Mekong Delta where you can stay overnight in local houses on stilts.. The list goes on and on!

Eating with your family in Vietnam

On a family holiday to Vietnam, you will undoubtedly get a chance to appreciate the local cuisine (which is not very spicy) and the amazing variety of exotic fruits. It is very easy to find local delicacies that please children! Furthermore, international food such as pizza, pasta, burgers and ice cream is found almost everywhere.

Travelling with children in Vietnam

While on a family holiday to Vietnam you will have no trouble finding diapers, potties and children's clothes in the big cities, however, this is not the case in the countryside. Please also note, cars and taxis are not equipped with a child seat. Breastfeeding in public is quite common in Vietnam, so you won't shock anyone by doing so. On the other hand, there are very few dedicated areas for changing diapers.

In Vietnam, it is particularly important to pay attention to what your child puts in their mouth. Their natural curiosity can become dangerous in a country where dysentery, typhoid and hepatitis are common. Also with the heat and sun, remember to moisturize children well and don’t forget to put on sunscreen during your family holiday to Vietnam!
