For the moment, demand is still greater than supply, but this is quickly changing with the construction of new hotels by both local and international developers. Nevertheless, if you are visiting Myanmar in high season, from October to March, you should book your hotels well in advance in order to ensure availability.
Accommodation prices have skyrocketed in recent years due to the tourist boom, and travellers often find that prices are not as low as they expect for an Asian destination. Compared to other countries in Southeast Asia, the price-value ratio for hotels in Myanmar is not very high.
